Top 3 Places to Visit in Paris:
Eiffel Tower – The Eiffel Tower is worth the hype. It is more beautiful at night than during the day.
Sacré Coeur – Sacred Heart in English. The views are incredible and on the side of the church there is a lovely sitting area.
Le Marais – This is a historic Jewish neighborhood that is picturesque. It would be nice to walk around and enjoy the beauty of Paris.
Best Eateries in Paris:
I stayed with a friend while visiting Paris so mostly ate home cooked Congolese meals. However, I did eat good falafel.
L’as du Fallafel – Falafel. I paid €13.5 for a chicken wrap and fries.
What to look out for while in Paris:
Tours – The free walking tours in Paris are excellent. Because Paris is such a big city – there are several different tours. Check out the tours that include La Sorbonne & St. German de Pres.
Paris nightlife – I went out to a club in Paris and it was fun. We went to a trap, R&B, Dancehall & Reggae event but they played all types of music.
Parisian suburbs – I enjoyed shopping in Parisian suburbs and being around ethnically diverse people. I was introduced to Primark for the first time in Paris.
Conclusion:
The city of love did not disappoint. The romantic ambiance will leave you wanting more. I was lucky enough to stay with a friend who opened her home to me. Paris accommodations are very pricey.
I visited in the summer and it did not get dark until 11:00pm so the summer is an excellent time to go.
I did find Parisians to be a bit rude and always in a hurry so be alert and aware – especially when you are on public transportation. Harassment was a bit more intense in Paris than other cities so be aware of this as well, especially if you are a solo traveler.
