Led by me, Shira, a Black woman who loves to explore, learn, and experience new cultures, I'm here to make sure that no matter where you are or what you're doing, you can find joy in the journey. Hi I'm Shira!
After completing my college studies in American Studies and Spanish, I embarked on an epic backpacking adventure across Europe. Within 8 weeks, I explored 14 captivating countries. Little did I know that this trip would spark the birth of Black Girl World Traveller. My mission was to chronicle my travels and create lasting memories. The experience fueled my passion for exploration, leading me to spend a year in Murcia, Spain, teaching English while traveling throughout Europe.

Travel became my source of freedom and purpose, empowering me to forge my own path. Determined to continue my globetrotting journey, I returned home with the intention of saving up to move to Southeast Asia. However, fate had different plans as the COVID-19 pandemic confined me to my hometown for the next three years, working a typical 9-5 job. Yet, my love for travel never wavered. In 2020, I took a leap of faith and launched my own travel business, officially forming it as an LLC.
Through my business, I offer travel planning, consulting services, and group trips aiming to empower black women to make the most of their travel experiences. My focus continues to be to inspire, encourage and educate others on how to see the world. Join me on this extraordinary journey!

Where do I begin my travel journey? I am overwhelmed with all the options.
You start with a domestic trip. This can be a staycation in your home city or going to another state in your home country. Staying local gets out the travel jitters and eases you into international travel.
How do I travel full-time?
There are several ways to do so. You can get a job that pays you to travel (e.g. working on a cruise line) or get a job that is fully-remote which will allow you to work from anywhere.
